Welcome Parents

Teachers and parents have the common goal of helping our young adults make good decisions that will have positive impacts on their lives. We all talk about inspiring our youth to become productive citizens and wage-earning adults. We both try to offer advice and guidance to our youth and it is our hope that you as a parent will find this site a helpful place, so that you can make informed choices with your son or daughter.
Some Food for Thought

In a recent Internet search, some rather shocking statistics were exposed. According to the CNN Money site, 62% of college students in Michigan leave school with an average debt of $28,840. To add to the concerns, the Chronicle of Higher Education site stated that in Michigan only 32.8% of students obtain a degree in 4 years. This number jumps to 60.7% who accomplish it in 6 years. To make it even worse, the Washington Post states that of the graduates, only 62.1% have jobs that require college and only 27.3% of the graduates are working in their chosen field of study. If you do not find these numbers shocking, they should at least raise some concerns!
